De Paul tried to intervene to expedite their departure from the airport to the
hotel, but they were allowed to move after waiting for about 40 minutes.

De Paul was always close to Messi, and a video shows him speaking with
security personnel about Messi in an attempt to speed up the procedures.

Fans gathered to welcome Lionel Messi as he prepares to play two friendly
matches with the Argentine national team before traveling to Inter Miami, his
new team.

This is Messi's seventh visit to China and the first since 2017.
The last match between Argentina and Australia was in the round of 16 at the

victory.
